(Lead Pastor Todd Cox)

Todd is originally from the Atlanta, Georgia area (Stone Mountain) and his wife,Tina, is from Eastern North Carolina (New Bern). Todd and Tina have been married since 1992.  They have two children, Taylor and Tyler, and a grandson Ari.  Their daughter, Taylor is 21 and is a graduate of Tyler Junior College and enrolled in the University of North Georgia.  Taylor is married to Haden Hardy and they have a son named Ari who is 2. Tina & Todd’s son, Tyler, is 19 and a Freshman at The University of North Georgia.   Todd and Tina met in North Carolina, in Tina’s hometown, while Todd was stationed there in the United States Coast Guard. Shortly after marrying, they moved to Elizabeth City, North Carolina, where Todd attended Aviation school in the Coast Guard.  In the summer of 1993, they moved to Savannah, Georgia where Todd was stationed on rescue helicopters for the Coast Guard.  Todd left the Coast Guard in 1997 and then worked in the aviation fields at Gulfstream Aerospace and at Snelling Search.   In 1996, Todd and Tina were instrumental in a new church plant in Savannah.  After Todd left the Coast Guard, he surrendered to the ministry while serving as the church Youth Pastor.  Todd worked with students, helped with the sound ministry, and taught home Bible studies at the new church.  He began working for a Christian company and traveled around the United States performing security and life safety consulting for financial institutions.  That company brought the Cox family to Forney, Texas in 2002. Todd worked as the General Manager at a Christian Waterpark, Splash Kingdom, in Canton, Texas from 2006-2008. They continued to live in the Forney area up until 2009 when Todd was hired to serve as the Student Pastor at New Harmony Baptist Church in Tyler, Texas. Todd was elected as a North American Church Planter in April 2011.  He has served in the ministry for over 15 years in several capacities, from leading home Bible studies, serving as youth and student pastor, as well as, audio and visual ministry. Todd majored in Ministry & Leadership at Dallas Christian College and was licensed to preach in 2005 and Ordained as a Pastor in 2010. Todd’s heart is to be a servant leader and has been called to preach God’s Word while discipling others into a deeper relationship with God through Christ. During his experience helping with the church plant in Savannah, Georgia, God truly changed Todd’s heart for the unchurched and those who have fallen away from the church due to misconceptions or hurts.   While serving at New Harmony, Todd truly felt God calling him to begin a new work and to plant a new church in the Kaufman County TX  area to reach exactly those groups of people.   In every city, there are people who are desperate to know God and are just looking for others to point the way to Him while showing them the love of Christ and the truth of His Word.   Now, we feel like God has placed them in this area “for such a time as this”! Student Pastor – Matthew Earls

Matthew and his wife Michelle are originally from Ashland, Kentucky.  Matthew and Michelle have two children a daughter Samantha who lives in Cincinnati, OH with her husband John and their son Tyler a recent graduate of Morehead State University who lives in Lexington, KY.  Matthew and Michelle met and fell in love while living in Ashland, KY.  Matthew was a Locomotive Engineer for nearly 15 years at CSX Transportation and Michelle worked as a Chemist at Calgon Carbon Company.

Matthew and Michelle were involved in the church plant Grace Culture Church in Ashland, KY where together they both served.  Prior to his “call” to minister Matthew was a lifelong musician who traveled and performed throughout the country for over 20 years.  It was through music that God reached out to Matthew and he found his faith.  Matthew was “called” to pursue ministry full-time in 2015 and upon this they relocated to Lexington, KY.  While in Lexington, KY, Matthew served at Bethel Harvest Church and returned to Ohio Christian University to pursue a BA in Leadership & Pastoral Ministry.  Matthew is slated to graduate in the fall of 2019.

In the summer of 2018, Matthew and Michelle were once again “called” to walk in faith and relocate to Cumming, GA.  Matthew will serve as the Student Ministries Youth Pastor at StonePoint Church under Pastor Todd Cox.  Upon accepting the position Matthew and Todd became aware of the fact that both were born in the same hospital in Huntington, West Virginia.  Wow, God’s will is at work here.  Matthew and Michelle are excited to answer this “call” to serve at StonePoint and have a clear vision of a vibrant, healthy youth ministry for many years to come.  “Children are the future of the Church.  Without them, the church is dying.  I hear Millennials speaking about equality, love, no judgement, and people of all walks of life existing in harmony.  I want to introduce them to Jesus Christ, because this is his message.  I believe they are searching for Christ and do not know it yet.  Great things are on the rise at StonePoint Church, in Cumming, Georgia, and throughout the entire world.” – Youth Pastor Matthew Earls
