StonePoint Pastor Staff Bio’s
Todd Cox
Lead Pastor

Todd is originally from the Atlanta, Georgia area (Stone Mountain) and his wife, Tina, is from Eastern North Carolina (New Bern). Todd and Tina have been married since 1992. They have two children, Taylor and Tyler, and a grandson Ari. Their daughter, Taylor is a graduate of the University of North Georgia.  Taylor is married to Haden Hardy and they have a son named Ari who is 4 and a daughter named Eva who is 2.

Tina & Todd’s son, Tyler, is 20 and a Sophomore at The University of North Georgia.

Todd and Tina met in North Carolina, in Tina’s hometown, while Todd was stationed there in the United States Coast Guard. Shortly after marrying, they moved to Elizabeth City, North Carolina, where Todd attended Aviation school in the Coast Guard.  In the summer of 1993, they moved to Savannah, Georgia where Todd was stationed on rescue helicopters for the Coast Guard.  Todd left the Coast Guard in 1997.

Todd has served in the ministry for over 20 years in several capacities, from Youth/Student Pastor, North American Missionary, Church Planter, Co-Pastor, Founding Pastor and Lead Pastor. Todd surrendered to the call of ministry in 1996, majored in Ministry & Leadership at Dallas Christian College and was licensed to preach in 2006 and Ordained as a Pastor in 2010.

Todd’s heart is to reach the unchurched and those who have fallen away from God. He want to “meet people where they are and show them the love of God”. Todd strives to be a servant leader and has been called to teach God’s Word in truth and love with grace and mercy.

In 2015, God called Tina and Todd to plant StonePoint Church right here in Cumming, GA to reach people who might have never gone to church, or who had drifted away from God. Todd preaching style is more of a teaching approach and he wants people to be able to understand the Word of God like they never have before and be able to apply it to their lives today.

In every city, there are people who are desperate to know God and are just looking for others to point the way to Him while showing them the love of Christ and the truth of His Word.   Now, we feel like God has placed them in this area “for such a time as this”!

Matthew Earls
Associate Pastor

Pastor Matthew and Michelle felt called to StonePoint Church in Cumming, Georgia in the fall of 2018.  They have served within multiple ministries in the past 10 years including leading worship, children’s and student ministry.

Matthew attends Ohio Christian University where he has focused on Leadership and Pastoral Ministry.  During the hiring process in 2018, Pastor Matthew and Pastor Todd became aware that both were born in the same hospital in Huntington, West Virginia.  Wow, God’s will is at work here.

Matthew and Michelle are excited to answer this “call” to serve at StonePoint Church and have a clear vision of a vibrant, healthy student and young adult ministry for many years to come.  StonePoint Church licensed Matthew in the winter of 2019 to minister and preach the Gospel Ministry.

Matthew has been accepted and plans to continue seminary training at Liberty University in 2021.  “We feel called to students and young adults for sure.  My prayer is that we can help bridge the gap between student and adult ministry.” – Pastor Matthew
